Seriously, have you folks who want health care reform thought about what it will do to the WORLD if you tamper with your awesome health care system? Who we have to look up to? The French? It's too scary to think about!
peggy...you're kidding, right? there are many countries we can learn from here as we're addressing our health care issues. France, with its generous paid vacations, is one of them. one of the problems here is that the insurance companies don't concern themselves with actually CARING for our health. they exist to make a profit on the sale of medicines and health-care technology--far different things.
Yes, I was kidding. The French, have longer holidays (the entire month of August for instance) have lovely food and wine, a national health service AND they live longer!
