Movie Reviews - My Opinion Only. Plus Bumper Stickers Seen Recently

April 2013: "Admission." Good Tina Fay, Good Paul Rudd, Good Wallace Shawn, Terrific Lily Tomlin, kind of confused story line. Nice to know more about the few autodidacts who made a big impact (Leonardo da Vinci (or was it Michaelangelo?), Ben Franklin. Laughed out loud at times. Enjoyable, and I appreciate any movie that has really good female roles. Just hate the 45 minutes of violent, loud, stupid commercials & trailers beforehand, though. When did this start? So freaking sick of fire-breathing dinosaurs, flying alien monsters, explosions.

March 2013: "Argo" eff yourself. Smoking/boozing/lying. Mild suspense, mostly involving checking of passports. Deus ex machina--jerk turns out to speak fluent Arabic.

January 2013:

"The Impossible": Wow. One of my friends said she never wants to go to a beach on vacation again.

"Amour": Incredible acting, very moving.

"This Is 40": Disgusting but it grows on you. Many hilarious moments, especially in the closing credits!

"The Life of Pi": Fascinating, but lose the funny glasses!

"Hyde Park on Hudson": Boring, but liked Bill Murray and the King! Also, Eleanor deserved a better part in the script.
