| Soup, soup, beautiful soup....soup of the hour, soup of the day! (well, yesterday). Used all the veggies on hand except a big bunch of kale, which is still very fresh. Love making soup to clear out the fridge. |

ReplyDeleteThat "monument" is atrocious! BTW: I heard that a new group is starting out ("Wilderness Boys" or some such) that will mimick the Boy Scouts, but not admit gays. I wonder if the new organization will admit girls?

Cop Car: Not leaves, just chunks of zucchini (I like to cut the small ones into triangular shapes). There are green herbs in there, too, but they're chopped too fine to see well.
ReplyDeleteI googled the Boy Scout monument. The adults are mythical/allegorical figures. Female is carrying a torch of some kind. The male is carrying a helmet, wouldn'tcha know. The statue was erected during LBJ's presidency and was funded (at least partially) by dimes contributed by the little scouts themselves. too bad they didn't ask for quarters...they could have put some britches on the male.

ReplyDeleteCorrection: I just heard on NPR that the new organization (that does not go by the name I gave, but whose name I don't recall) does admit gays - as long as they don't engage in gay sexual practices.

Cop Car: by that I hope you mean "NO SEX In the tents!!" I've read that lots of little straight boys have sex together just out of curiosity. all the kids should just lay off the sexual fun & games at the non-scout camp, whatever its name.
