Answer: Because altar boys don't get pregnant

Yesterday's mail brought a request from Planned Parenthood to help fight back against the Catholic bishops, who are throwing their weight around to encourage Catholic parishioners to agitate for more abortion restrictions in the health care bill.  This clearly is the episcopal issue of choice (oops) these days. No matter that what the law of the land is, or the opinion of compassionate people everywhere, they are totally against abortion (and worse yet, birth control) for women.

Why, you ask?  See above.

  1. And how many Catholics use birth control -- I'd guess most of them today. When my kids were in Catholic school, most of us only had two kids. As one mother put it, the Church doesn't pay my bills so they can stay out of my bedroom. Frankly, I wanted more but the docs said "no more babies' after my stroke.

  2. Very funny "gotcha' on the Bishops. Yeah, it's ironic that pedophile was covered up, but abortion - the horror? They go nuts.

Abortion being wrong is based on a religious belief and this is why I am so adamantly for separation of church and state.
