Orange Marmalade

Yesterday, my friend Loraine came for lunch and brought a lovely plant: Crossandra infundibuliformis or "Orange Marmalade." It reminded me of that old limerick:

A rooster became quite dismayed,
With an orange in a nest, well displayed.
He called to his chicks,
"Mom's up to her tricks!
Look at the orange `marma-laid'."

  1. mmmm.... I love orange marmalade! Speshally on buttered toast.
Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with blogs very well, too busy doing other things.
My son used to be given ants on a log when he was at nursery school!

  2. What a beautiful plant. The shiny green leaves set off the lovely orange blossoms to a tee.

Tee Hee! Cute and funny poem.
