From the Swedish "ligger runt husen"--"lying around the house." He doesn't eat anything or chew my boots or pee on the floor. Very quiet but very companionable....If MurrMurrs can have Pootie, I can have Runt.
Back when I was working (in a multi-storey building), there were two receptionists wo-manning (?) the front desk. One of them had a 21st birthday, and I gave her a teddy bear which she proudly displayed on the front desk counter.
On the canteen break, I said (overly) loudly : "Have you seen? The receptionist's bare today?"
That's a gorgeous picture of Runt! I think he might be cuter than Pootie, but don't tell Murr I said so.
ReplyDeletePootie is much cuter--he has a lively personality....Runt is just one of those nice old dogs that sleeps all the time. Just my speed.
ReplyDeletep.s. his name is pronounced "roont"....more melodious
ReplyDeleteHere's a homonymic anecdote :

There was a rush for the stairs...
Cheap to feed, and you don't have to stoop for the poop and scoop..... my kind of doggie.
