20th Century Woman commented on my previous post thus:
There are people whose greatest need is to be the center of attention. That's really all they want. I suspect most assassins fall into this category, and certainly the one who shot 20 people in Tuscon does. The same is true, I think, of SP. She doesn't want to be president, she didn't even want to be governor of Alaska (which my Alaskan husband says is the easiest governorship of the 50 states.) She just wants to be the center of attention. The way to defeat her is to ignore her. She does no good works, she has nothing of interest to say, and she's kind of dumb. You got it, m.e., right at the beginning. Fall on your remote and save us from this ignorant exhibitionist. Don't watch.
Thanks, 20th, and I'd like to say this about that:
People keep saying, "Well, we need to know what she's saying so we can..." pick one:
A: "respond"? She won't hear us even if she listens.
B: "counteract her"? Best way to do that is, as 20th Century Woman says, IGNORE HER.
Go one step further and tell your representative/senator to go after what
you want. Do you want health care? Are you grateful for fire and police protection and paved streets & roads and the fact that there is a hospital and a public school in your town? Tell that to your congressperson yourself. Call, write a letter, send an email. Make YOUR THOUGHTS and NEEDS KNOWN! And forget about SP's thoughts (?) and needs, which as common sense and 20th Century Woman tell us are few: to be the center of attention and, um, make a ton of money.
I also want to ask, "Who were the Grizzlies, Mama or not, in AZ last weekend?" (pick one:)
A: The 61-yr-old unarmed woman who
grabbed the second 33-shot magazine with her bare hands from the shooter before he could reload it?
B: The aide (he's been called, variously "fat," "Hispanic," "gay"--anything but "straight, white, and 21") who stepped into the line of fire, held Representative Giffords's head, applied pressure to her wound, and most surely saved her life.
C: The old church-going guy who threw himself over his wife to save her but lost his own life.
D: All of the above.
Did these people share the total ignorance and selfishness displayed by the "no more taxes" crowd? Were they smirking away, like the representative from Virginia who announced the House next week is going to do away with the Health Care plan?
I think we need a new name for the Teabaggers: The Kayaggers (KYAG = Kiss Your Ass Goodbye) because they are surely out to eliminate all the life-affirming services that will benefit them and their families and their communities. We (and they) are the government. It's too bad they don't realize that.
