Benazir Bhutto 1953-2007

I can't download any photos of Benazir Bhutto, but please look at Mad Cabbie's blog for a touching comment.

Here is her obituary as carried in BBC.com

And the AP profile by Matthew Pennington and Jerry Schwartz as carried in the Rocky Mountain News.

And a moving personal reminiscence by Arianna Huffington on HuffPost.

What a courageous woman! May she rest in peace, and may we follow her example of living full out in the cause of peace.

  1. Muslims Against Sharia condemn the murderers responsible for the assassination of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and her supporters.

Our prayers are with the victims of this atrocity. We send our condolences to their loved ones.

May the homicide bomber rote in hell for eternity. May his accomplices join him soon!

  3. P.S. to my gentle usual readers:
The preceding is just a public service. I am not endorsing the MAS. I had never heard of this organization until they commented on this post. So I googled them and found the magazine article (above link). I figgered you (my near and dear, mostly) probably know as little about them as I do and would like to know at least who they are. I am constantly amazed by the fact that XE gets many readers every day from all over the world.

  4. I agree with your comments about Ms Bhutto being a brave and courageous woman, who stood up for her beliefs and human rights. The world has lost a spokesman for democracy.
Unfortunately I can't see your pictures, just the Red X!

  5. ex-shammie....i don't know why you're getting the red x's instead of pictures. maybe it's because the links in my post mostly are articles, and any pictures are only secondary. who knows?

i'm off to visit sally & co for the weekend. it's already clouded over in what was earlier a bright sunny day. maybe they'll get SNOW there?! might be medium fun...as long as there is no SHOVELING involved! ha. if so, i'll toss the first shovelful in your honor....

happy new year!! loved your frost pix....m.e.
